looking for a good 3 pt blade for tractor in 50 to 60 hp
range. had one and it just folded up one day seems a lot
are built cheap ok on small drives with small tractors.just
missed a jd with solid top. liked the old ac snap coupler
blades .

My 'favorite' is one that will not fold up when I use it!Many good brands out there. If I was in the market for a new blade,I would look for one that is rated for a bigger tractor than I use/own.

The one that came with our 1939 9N Ford. It's had a couple of welds on it over the years, been on a few different tractors over the years and is now on brother's 1953 8N.

i have two king kutters one five foot and one is a six foot,i also have another six footer i bought broken in two pieces,i welded it back together with the blade welded solid in the backward position i skid alot of trees for firewood with it.on the five foot king kutter i mounted a 10,ooo lb 12volt winch with a 100ft. of cable to pull trees closer that i cant reach.i use mine mostly behind a mf-35 diesel,i could probably do alot of damage to them but i use my head and try to be carefull with them

The AC's are convertible to 3 point hitch, it's just 4 bolts, to go from SC to 3PH. If you can find them for under $500, still the heaviest blade ever made, IMHO. They also have bolt on extensions, that make them longer.

I would buy a brand name that is rated for your tractors hp. Most of the cheap ones are only rated for about 35 hp. Like anything, you get what you pay for.

My 8 ft Rhino with hydraulic offset was one tough piece of equipment. We had it on a 100 HP tractor. It was expensive but worth it. Sold it when we quit plowing snow and got 3/4 of what I paid for it 8 years later!

I own a Land Pride Series 35 and love it. It is convertible between Category I and Category II. This enables me to use it on both my 40 and 86 HP tractors. With the manual tilt and manual swing out it is easy to set when plowing snow so you get the snow beyond the rear tire.

Blades are like tires , just saying a name like Woods, Bush Hog, Land Pride or what ever you have not said much. Realize that the companies make different models or different weights of implments. Get you a heavy duty (Series 35) Land pride or heavy duty Woods either will last if mounted on the right tractor.

I have a TSC back blade on my Jubilee. I only push snow with it. Put a 3 inch slag pipe on it. Like the way it works, I have never removed the pipe.

For what I do, it will last me a life time. I don't push dirt or hit things with it. When removing snow, I listen for the pipe to hit rocks. I don't want to remove gravel, just snow.

I like my JD 80 blade (8ft). Have the original 6ft blade in the barn.

The Heat Houser is a waist of time on these old diesels.

Here is what I use. RB4096 Landpride. It is nice, but it wasn't cheap. BUT... I don't think you will bend the moldboard short of purposely and repeatedly smashing it into something. It is plenty of blade for my NH3930 mfwd.

It will take 3 cylinders: offset, angle and tilt. I only have the angle. I use blade a lot, if it gets too much, I will get out the dozer. I have nothing but great things to say about this blade.

Note: The 2" well pipe on the bottom is for plowing snow on the gravel drive. Thanks go to OLD for that idea.

I bought a Woods 5 foot box blade back in the spring. Very heavy duty, it is amazing what this thing will do for a gravel driveway. If Woods makes their rear blades like their box blades then get a Woods,

auctions
cheap, old blades seem to hold up better than even $ new ones.
I've had Ford, ARPS, all good
my current one is a JD (the one with the big U-shaped handle
to unpin the blade turn)
$50 at auction, froze up, some heat and Blaster, then grease, and hooking the edge to a tree and pulling freed it up (no, it didn't bend)
very happy with it, heavy duty

Had good luck with our Leon, its 8 ft with hydraulics and supposed to be good to 200 hp. Works well on our 50 and 100 hp tractors although the 50 hp is too light for it.

Land Pride. The trouble with mine is I break the pins when I hook into something that wont move, but the blade is still straight.
