I am getting ready to change the clutch in my truck, I smoked it(my fault), and now it has a tendency to slip.

Looking through variuos websites, there are a wide range of clutch suppliers and prices.

LUK = 200
Perfection (Advance Auto) = 255
Rhino = 270
Duralast = 280
Sachs = 300
Exedy = 360
Valeo = 380

I plan on facing the flywheel and replacing the slave cylinder and throwout bearing at the same time.

Any suggestions or insight?

Regards
Rich

LUK gets my vote... I have used a lot of advance store clutches with no issues... If I have issues I go thru the trouble of getting a LUK for the replacement....

I have used GM OEM clutch sets when I opened up the box I found a LUK set..

I don't know how they work in a Chebby but LUK OEM in a Mustang lasted 200,00 with 2 wimmens drivers. When I replaced it I went with new LUK again.

This post brings back a lot of bad memories! I have done the same thing twice in 115,000 miles on my 2004 one ton. A new aftermarket flywheel is about the same price as refacing. Make sure and put a high quality pilot bearing in. Also be sure and replace the throwout bearing/slave cyl. while you are in there. Good luck on bleeding it.
