Have gotten over a dozen calls for donations to help the Phillipene typhoon victims. All want only a credit card #. I tell them to mail the information to me Haven't gotten anything in mail yet

Yep, I get calls from various "charities" frequently- I tell them to send me some literature, and I will send a check- but as far as giving them my credit card number over the phone, well, not so much. 90% are never heard from again.

A few weeks ago some broad called my home phone and asked for money for kids with cancer. I rudely told her that I am on the do not call list. She said she just calls everybody.
I then threatened her with bodily violence. And then she hung up.

I have it down now to where they hang up on me due to my very rude verbal abuse.
I have yet to get a call to help the poor typhoon victims on the other side of the pond.

Unfortunately, charities are not bound by the "do not call" law. What fries me are the calls we get that are NOT charities. Telemarketers get a very short call window, as well as "surveys, etc."

I too am on the no call list.
the political robo-calls are what really gripes me.

Next time they call ask them who they want to speak to. then act like a detective and ask how well they know the person they are asking to speak to. Then out of the clear blue act like your talking to some one else in the house and say, "Get a some pictures of the body we need all the evidence we can get". Then tell the caller you would like to meet with them since there has been a untimely death of the person they are wanting to talk to and now they are a suspect...This keeps them from calling back.

Before I dropped my land line, I got calls everyday.
If you have the time: Give them a made up number--if they call back, say---"try this one"
Another approach is, when they ask how you are doing----TELL THEM ALL YOUR PROBLEMS!!!
Most will not call back.
