any body ever here of these guys? I'm looking for
an alternative to redwing. I wear Bellville boots
which normally last me 2 years in garrison and at
least one year long combat deployment. I can't
find a pair of work boots that will last me 2 years
worth of weekends at the farm.

Can't say that I ever heard of them, but they might be just what the doctor ordered. I just bought a new pair of Redwings tonight, so I'm not in need of a pair. But, had I seen your post a few hours and coat of mink oil ago, I just might have given them a try. Give it a shot, let us know how they turned out from your experience.

Not even close to my size, as I wear an A width. They say medium(C) and wide(D)! Problem is only Red Wing makes an A width, and they only have 1 style to choose from!

Red Wings for me, been wearing them for almost 50 years. Only had one bad pair and they replaced them even after two years use.

Bellville boot is moving a plant into a building about a mile from me. The plant is going to make the soles for boots. I wear Chippewa loggers insulated, waterproof and safety toe boot. They are a boot that takes very little time to break them in. Red Wing is a good boot but Georgia and Carolina logger are hard boots to break in( take three times longer to break in than a pair of Chippewa loggers).

Paul,
I look at things a little differently. A few weeks ago, Menards was selling Old Mill insulated boots for $20. I bought 2 pair. I'll be happy if they last me over the winter. $40/year. Having 2 pair, One pair will have a day to dry out if needed. Last year I bought an expensive pair of Lacross boots at gander mt, they lasted 45 days.

Was at menards Sunday. Bougth an Old Mill insulated jacket, $30 and Old Mill insulated artic coveralls with zipper down each leg, $35. I was warm and toasty yesterday mowing my leaft for the last time.

For the price, I'm not expecting them lasting forever. Be happy if they make it throught the winter.

If you're having trouble keeping the leather in shape, switch to obenauf's leather treatment.

You got that right. Then the mud dries and when you take a step, all that caked mud falls out and you gotta sweep the floor!

I live near Mountain City, just a few minutes from this place. It's a small business. Just a few employees. My son has a pair of their boots and thinks they're great. Mountain City used to have a large Timberland boot plant before it moved offshore. I think these are some of the former factory managers from Timberland. Only heard good things locally about their boots. My sons were "custom" fitted, then made.

2 years into my second pair of Chippewas, got three years out of my first. The outside of the boot was fine but I bought one size too big and after a while my heel had ripped the interior from excessive movement. I hear good things about Georgia but there is no reason for me to change
