Long story long, 50 8n side dist, new cap, rotor points, lubed cam shaft, new plug wire, plugs and points gap .025, new carb, new fuel line, new fuel tank , new fuel bowl and valve, Autolite al437 plugs have taken it seems everything back apart acouple of times cleaned and reset, it stills sputters like a miss noticed blow back out of oil fill cap, any ideas. Thanks

Maybe do a compression test, might have a piston with a hole in it,bad score in the cylinder wall, wiped camshaft...

Or maybe a burnt valve or some piece of crud stuck between the seat and face, or if you're really lucky a lifter out of adjustment. Just keep thinking those good thoughts, maybe get a mantra going " the valve adjustment will fix it..."

Why so many new parts before doing any real trouble shooting. That many new parts can compound the problem and is more likely to do so then to fix it.
#1 you need to check your spark. Make sure it is a good blue/white in color and will jump a 1/4 inch gap.
#2 check that the points open to 0.025 on ALL four lubes of the distributor because if the bushing is bad the points will jump all over the place.
#3 make sure you have a good steady flow of gas out the carb drain plug. Let it flow few minutes. Catch it to make sure it does not have water and dirt in it
#4 when was the last time you serviced the air cleaner??
#5 low compression on one or more cylinder will cause that.
By the way fill in the blanks as to why you threw so many parts at it

All of these new parts have been over time the whole thing is a learning process for me. The gas tank was a mess so I just just started fixing things as I went never really knowing what to expect. Compression cold is 1-91, 2-105, 3-92, 4-105, I took the spark plugs out and 3 and 4 seem to be burning cleaner than 1 and 2

Compression has a problem. Did this tractor sit a long time?? Sounds like you either have rings that are sticking or valves stick or carbon build up. I would pour in say a 1/4 cup of ATF in each cylinder and let it sit 24 hours. Pull the plugs and spin it over to clear the ATF and try a compression check again. 90pis in min compression need to run and 8Nwell and is likely to be where you problem is

Exactly what I was gonna suggest. Don't know if it is a CC rotation like Ferguson or not Check for firing order going the right way. This Fergy I bought had been wired up for wrong rotation and believe it or not it actually started and run that way, just not very good. Usually they will bubble oil out the air filter though when firing wrong.

checked everything again tonight plug wires in the right place good spark distributor cam lobes all fine gap the same at all.
