I have learned so much from you all teaching and sharing the information you have from experience. If only schools where designed this way our children would surely love to learn taught by their elders. If we could teach problem solving in this manner the world would be a better place.

Thank you for your kindness.

Helping others is the reason many of us are on here. What I know I learned for older people and I was taught when young to keep my eyes and ears open and mouth shut

Taught to keep your eyes and ears open, and mouth shut. ..........That is the easiest way to get old!

I heard a person say if you have no more projects you are dead.
To this person life was a struggle, no joy a project, a task to keep going.
Life is so much more than a project an assignment.
Life is receiving and giving.
The trick is knowing when to ask and how to give.

Thank you for helping me to learn.
You matter.

By the way as I type this I am boiling beet for canning pickled beets. Another one of those things I have learned and try to pass on to others

Old: As my sons entered the vertical construction trades, I told them "watch and learn" watch the plumber the electrician roofer block layer whatever. They are very handy they can work on about anything. I knew what you meant. Keep your eyes and ears open don't talk. thanks for your sharing on the forums. gobble

Plaque on the wall of my grandparents home when I was young:
A wise old owl sat in an oak
the more he saw, the less he spoke,
the less he spoke, the more he heard,
why can't we be like that wise old bird?

Try listening when you are talking. The voice blanks out
around 60% of the hearing capacity.
Adds up doesn't it? That's how I learned, by shutting up and
listening to those older than me.

(quoted from post at 10:17:17 11/22/13) By the way as I type this I am boiling beet for canning pickled beets. Another one of those things I have learned and try to pass on to others

My husband canned 80 quarts of pickled beets this year. We eat them for "breakfast-lunch" every morning along with the pickelded okra. Beets are good for the blood and orkra is good fiber. Love our garden without it we would be hard up for food.
Youngster need to be taught how to can and garden. They live to fast to take the time.

Human brains cannot “multitask” do 2 things at once. Also thinking to fast what you will say before the question is asked. I have to practice slow thinking. Movies and video games teach only fast fast fast. Humans must slow down case in point “Technology” faster the better. I am not say stop advancing technology after all without it we would not be having this conversation. You must understand the consequences of what is being made in the name of advancement “Technology”. Ask are we humans mature enough to really see the big picture and how it will affect this world?
For thousands of years human advancement was rather slow and time was given to see the big picture.
Like a child small steps were taken some stumbling and retrying until crawling was achieved.
Now because humans can and do develop faster than they can comprehend no trials no small steps are taken to see the big picture and ask “What will this do for years to come?”
Case in point antibiotics, antibiotics were wonderful in the beginning now have created super virus resistance, because we use the technology without reverence to what was created, not seeing the big picture.
I am asking for a moral center just because we humans can create should we?

Are we ready to see the big picture?

One of our friends gave us some deer meat. My husband made deer jerky. The grandkids ask for it every time we go see them.
Thanks for the help.
