The new crank sensor made all the difference.

I hooked laptop up to tractor today, had nice stable RPM indication. I set the timing advance at 0 degrees in computer, hooked up coil pack and had signal right on TDC. I then put in spark advance table, hooked up wires to coil pack.

It runs so smooth.

Excellent to see it going. Well done. True Electronic ignition is a marvel.
Diagnosed a cam sensor squeak today on a 3.0 V6 ford Ranger. Owner was relieved it was not major. Jim
 
I hope the whole syncronizer was replaced and not just the sensor! Usually the syncro is what squeaks, and if it fails the engine WILL lock up in a matter of seconds! BTDT!!!
 
just had the cam syncro on my 3.0 Taurus replaced the other day. Google the effects of ignoring it. Bill
 
Shaft, not the plastic. It was replaced with a Ford Part. We pre lubed the new shaft, and he intends to pull it and lube it every 50K. It is a horrible design. Jim
