A couple of friends near Champaign, IL set this up every year. 240 acres for a small group, so it usually takes a 3 day weekend. The local jr. college diesel instructor brings a group of students out to see what plowing is all about, and the host always has a bunch of tractors and plows for them to run. Always the highlight of my fall tractoring. Rain today, so we didn't get done. Many thanks to Chuck and Tom for all the work they do. I'm on the ugly old Gvi.

I always enjoy plowing pics. That is my favorite tillage job. Looks like it was working good there. Here was me a few weeks back also.

That sounds like a lot of fun. Never enough acres to plow it seems. Couple of nice looking MMs there. What year is your 4 bottom plow?

The Farmall 560 (I presume) looks unusual to have rear wheels out that far, right wheel especially. It's that way to compensate for the way the plow's hooked up?

I think it just looks wide because there are no fenders on it. Wheel to wheel looks similar to the MM in front of it.

The guy on the crawler probably could have added 2 or 3 more bottoms. I like plowing with a crawler. They tend to pull all out of proportion for their HP. Pretty slow going though.

I too always liked plowing. The smell of the fresh turned soil, working the tractor hard. Anyone that doesn"t enjoy plowing should live in the city. My 2 cents .

Alan- Don't know the year, but it's an IH #16. My favorite of all the old plows I've owned.
