I'm looking at new holland workmaster 75, two wheel drive, anyone have any thing good or bad to say about them. Will be used pulling 4x5 round baler, 10 foot disc, other STO (small time operator) equipment.

Never owned one, but have a 7740 in the shop at the moment putting a clutch in it. Made in England, but seems like it might be alright, what hp is the 75?

I"ve been told (but am not certain) that the CNH Workmaster tractors are made by LS in Korea.

I am certain that the main four speed transmission is synchronized in third and fourth only.

I shopped these last fall and bought a MF instead due to the lack of first and second gear synchronizers in the Workmaster.

They are based on an old Fiat design. Friend of mine bought one last spring. 4wd model with a loader to use on his 65 cow dairy farm, its too light duty for what he wants and he plans to trade for something larger next year. Also know of a couple of the same tractor in CaseIH colors in the area, hobby or part time farmers, and they seem satisfied with them. If a light duty, noisy transmission tractor fits your needs it might be OK.

What used to be my local NH dealer said that all of their tractors under 100 hp were manufactured in Korea after Fiat bought them out. They stopped carrying the NH line because of the inferior parts and construction of the Korean tractors. switched over to Kioti brand instead. Since the dealer even dropped that brand after being a ford/NH dealer since the 40's because of the poor construction I wouldn't buy one.

I've got one with the Farmall name on it. Mine is the 65hp but it is the same tractor. I like it real well except I do row crop work with mine and the steering wheel keeps creeping to the right. REALLY BAD. Steering wheel goes completely around 6 times on a half mile round. Really is annoying trying to plant straight or cultivate. Dealer changed steering boxes 3 times but always the same. Finally got ahold of factory and they said it is within specs so if it don't work for my application to give me my money back.

I hear the Korean tractors (LS, Montana, Kioti) have made great strides in quality. Unlike a certain other Asian country, they seem to learn quickly (Kia / Hyundai a good example). They want a bigger share of the US market and the only way to get it is to have higher quality and more durability.
