Thought some of you flat land farmers would enjoy these. Glenwood Canyon, Glenwood Spring CO. Colorado River. They had to double deck the four lanes to get the interstate through the canyon. One place it is three levels.
Delivered a IHC MD to DeltaRed a few months ago via this route.

That's a nice road....now.I remember when(mid 80s)it was a narrow 2 lane road down in the bottom of that winding canyon.I've towed several balers, corn choppers, etc through that 'hole' when we moved from Ft.Collins to Delta in the mid 80s(I was in my late 20s).A bit later,we had to deal with the construction of the interstate which lasted for several years. Thanks for the pics!!

Recognized the first pic right away. Been through there many times.
Maybe Delta Red knows for sure, but IIRC at one point the railroad runs below the 2 levels of I-70.

Yes it does. Most of the time it is also on the other side of the river.Kinda fun to watch the train below and across as you drive the road. There is also a wonderful bike/walking path from Glenwood all the way through to the eastern end.Biked parts of it several times. That road is kind of an engeneering marvel. The 'Hanging Lake' tunnels area are particularly interesting.

Beautiful country. I kinda prefer the red rock country SW of there, but that's still pretty scenery.

Thanks Delta.
Nice to know that my memory hasn't failed completely. Can see the railroad across the river in first pic.
