I heard about That old Man in Ky. that has the little tractor shop with the cheap door rate so I did some asking around and thought I would just take a road trip to find out for myself. After about 2 hours of driving and stopping a half a dozen time I finally found him!
Yes he is an older man in his 60,s.
Yes he does have a nice small shop.
Yes his Door rate is $22.50
Yes he has several older tractors in for repair or waiting.
Yes he is plesant to talk with.
And Yes he has a large aray of tools!
But! He is out in the middle of no place!
He is hard hearing!
And he only knows older equipment!
Will not work on any thing with
computers! unless it is a
hands on job!
I spoke with 2 of his customers that was there and we went for coffee while the old Gentleman worked on Steve,s Ford 900. While we had our coffee I quizzed the two customers, about the work the man put out. Both agreed he did good work and was very reasonable. However he was slow but again charged only what he thought was right. I also found out in his younger years he work for IHC and Ford dealerships.
My road trip proved to be well worth the drive. I am considering hauling my tractor about 60 miles to have him work on it.It's good to know there are still little tractor shops serving the people who need them the most.
