Has anyone every converted a belly mower to a 3pt mower? I have a woods L306 belly mower on my Farmall "H" tractor and would like a 3pt mower for my IH 574. So I'm thinking of converting the belly mower to a 3pt. But I don't think it would be cost effective for what I could probably buy a used 3pt mower for of similar size.

I converted a 3 pt to a belly mower. Blade rotation and belt direction had to change. I have to check blade bolts they tend to unscrew. You might have the same problem going the other way.

I think it would cost too much finding a pto shaft, gear box with a large pulley on bottom, not to mention the cost of the belt.
I would look for a used 3 pt and sell the belly mower.
I have both a 6 ft belly and a 6 ft 3 pt woods. I like the belly over the 3 pt expecially when turning. You turn left and rear mower swings right leaving a strip of grass at turns.
