1950 Farmall M Mag

I have taken the Mag out. New coil, points, condensor,cap and Rotor. I get spark from coil but cant get spark from plug.Everything looks lined up. Any ideas?

BAD(NEW) COND quite often, try another. Have you got spark at the points? Close them turn on IGN and open with a screw driver or such, should spark.

It won't spark with a screwdriver on a mag will it?

The timing of the rotor depends on the small gears between the points cam, and the rotor shaft. There are timing marks on the gears. Jim

Thanks for the input. Took apart reset points and cleaned. Checked for grounding all seemed good. Put it all back together with one plug and spark is there! Got me.

I inherited this project. Tractor been in barn for 10 years. What a mess. Friends husband died and wants me to get it running so she can sell. Been interesting... This was the final piece..I hope.

Its a mag no fire till it turns over. You can open and close the points all day and you will not get a spark.

Its a mag. Used drill to spin on my bench...
