I have an 800 series (860 to be exact) that I finally got running lately, after it sat for 6 years - since the last owner died. When I went to use the 3point hitch, it wouldn"t work. Long story short - Where does the fluid go into the tractor for the hydraulic system? Is the fill hole the big plug under the seat, on the left side (when you are sitting on the tractor)? Also - what grade of hydraulic fluid does it require?
As to transmission and rear-end fluid - is it standard gear lube -or some special Tractor lube? Any info on what weight to use would be greatly appreciated...
I cannot wait to use this antique, as it is running like a well-oiled sewing machine...
Thanks - in advance! I will be changing all the fluids tomorrow in the Hydraulic system and rear end and transmission...

Most people any more use UTF in all 3 sumps since the seals can go bad between and mix the 3. Good chance it has lost prime from sitting so pour some oil into the pipe plug on the hyd pump. By the way you will get more and better answers in the Ford forum down below

Hydraulic fill plug is beneath the seat on the left side. 8 quarts if empty.

Differential is on top of housing on right. Level plug on left side. 13 quarts, IIRC.

Transmission near shifter. Level plug on right side. 10 quarts (?).

CNH now recommends CNH 134D or equivalent in all 3 sumps. You can use 134D in the hydraulic sump and GL-5 90W in the transmission and differential but if the inter-compartment seals leak, and many do, the oils will migrate.

As the tractor has been sitting for years you will likely need to prime the hydraulic pump at the plug on the top of the pump at the front.
