Model 520 John Deere Petal tractor Decals

Does anyone know the correct decals to put on a Model 520 John Deere Petal tractor. I'm not sure of the year but it has a black seat (some are yellow). My father bought it for my son sometime around 1980. His son is now using it.
Is there any way to tell the year?

The casting for the 520 was used for several years, possibly with some slight variations.

The one representing the '30' series (4430, etc.) came out in about 1973. The '40' series (4440, etc.) came out in 1978. The '50' series (4450, etc.) came out in about 1982, and the '55' series came out in about 1985.

I can send you scans of the various decal options for the various models...I will, however, need your e-mail address to do that.

My book (Criswell's Pedal Tractor Guide) does not show a 520. Only a 620. First year made 1956. All with a Green seat. None with a Yellow or Black seat. I can't say one way or the other as I am not a JD guy. As far as decals I have had good luck with Magnuson & have also used Samuelson. I hope this helps.

The "Model 520" is the number of most of the pedal tractors in the '70s and '80s. It is not what we oldtimers think of as a real 520.
