OT - Does your cat and dog get along?

Cute video.

To answer your question NO. We have 2 indoor cats and 1 indoor dog, they tolerate each other. The 3 outdoor dogs have zero tolerance for cats, if we put one of the indoor cats outside it jumps up on the roof of the house and waits for you to let it in. In the last 4-5 years I have only seen one (live) stray cat around the buildings, it was "treed" in the machine shed, never saw him again. I have found a couple dead cats laying in the yard. I wouldn't mind having a couple of cats around outside but I wouldn't choose them over the dogs.

Yes and no. One dog and the cat play together, when the cat tries to get friendly with the other dog he growls.

Two cats. One large dog. Dog wants to play - cat goes into defensive posture, snarls... Dog backs off - cat chases dog! Apparently he got a face ful of claws somewhere along the line - learned to leave cats a distance.

ours get along as far as we dont have any knock down drag out fights, the cat has made the dogs respect her thru installing a few of her claws in their noses, now all respect each others space but they dont play as a group

I wished I'd had a camera the other morning. I fed
the horse some oats and pellets in his pan and the
dog AND the cat were BOTH helping him eat. And NO,
my animals are not starved. They get their own feed
every day.

Two "indoor" Dachshunds (on a pup) will play
with/chase the cats when they are outside. They know
which cats will play - we have the "Pummel Cat", the
"Play Cat", and the "Leave Me Alone Cat"....

Our outside dog - a Great Pyr - lets the cats sleep
on her when it is cold....

my collie will let one cat my son calls Mr. Puuters to eat with her, the rest she barks at, in the morning the cats are waiting outside the house waiting for me to go to the barn and feed them and the dog makes great sport chasing , cutting them off and pouncing on them, she never hurts them though

Not really. We don"t actually have a dog, but one of our neighbor friends has two. Needless to say, last time he broght them over, our one barn yard cat had BOTH of the dogs a running!

My dog loves cats. He thinks they make fine squeaky toys. If he sees a cat he will jump out the truck window to get to it. Then do everything possible to kill it.

Yes.
