Where would the best place to find a reman motor it's a 3 cylinder diesel . Ever thing is at the edge cylinder oval 18 th. taper 17 th. And the crank is shot. The crank all ready been turn rods 20 th. Rods 30 th. They want more for a used engine than the tractor is worth. The engine has been into apart more than. Once. How are these engine casting on sand pitting after boring its a dry sleeve engine. Thanks

NH has reman engines... but if you can't stomach the 1500 for a used one I don't think you'll fare too well at the dealer when you stomach the price tag of about 6 grand on the reman.
If this one already has dry sleeves have a machine shop knock them out and replace with a thick wall sleeve and bore to spec... then see about buying a crank from them. You'll still be into 3-4k in parts by the time you're done tho, plus any costs to assemble.

They used the same block for both gas and diesel. Mine were on gas, one all the numbers said it was a diesel but it was gas so must have been converted. That one was bored twice with no problems, other had been bored and a sleeve put in with no problems either. So I think the crank is also the same for gas and diesel, just the head and instead of the electrical system for gas a pump installed in its place. Check that out and you might find what you need easier.

The yard I called was $2000 for the motor not running $2500 for the motor running. Hate to spend that much for a motor I don't know much about. Figure a reman would at lease have a warr.
