Turned off the last of the irrigation water yesterday.Picked/stacked the last hay bale this morning. So that must mean that summer is offically 'over'.Next stop-corn harvest!

Summer is over in the eastern states, too. (N.C.) The wind blew strongly all day, high only in sixties, frost warnings in central NC tonight, snow forecast for some parts of the mountains. For the next five days, outlook is freezing at night and high only in mid fifties daytime. Soon be time to rake leaves, doggone it.

Was in the farm office yesterday- wrote a note to self before combining beans......run AF thru the pressure washer before quitting for the day. Getting cold here. Combined less than a round, plugged the combine, beans were 17% moisture...too wet to store..walked thru the shop, ran some AF in the washer, turned it on......water spraying out the side of the pump! Guess it got too cold the night before!

Earlier this week in central Minnesota we received our first killing frost of the season. It was a little later than average. Our growing season is now over.

Yep I shut our Ditch water down on Monday. You never can tell But would like to come over and play in the corn patch for a day. But now that I have retired for the second time I don't have much time. Ha Ha.
