Just wondering when my picker wants to shell some off the end of the cobs, is it best to move the rollers out more or in more? I usually keep the lever set about halfway, some days it picks good and the next day it wants to shell some off. Go figure I guess )

run the rollers as tight as you can to tight it will plug to loose it will shell pick in the morning when stalk is tough works the best

I'm not sure where you live, but in my area in Minnesota, stalk quality was an issue. I just got done picking my corn with a 324 new idea picker. I could only close the snapping rolls so far and then I would start snapping off stalks. this would cause a really busy 12 row husking bed. I found that actually increasing the ground speeed helped reduce the shelling some. Those things are known to shell corn. I found my elevator going to the gravity box caused a lot of the shelling. Today's corn shells easier.
