John Deere 5020

I recently picked up a John Deere 5020 that has a few rear end problems. I know I will need a new left trumpet with ring gear, and the planet gears, and will probably find a few more surprises inside but I got it for a reasonable price so I am happy. A few questions:
1.) Does anyone have a spare axle laying around that they would like to sell cheap, preferably close to Ontario or Michigan.
2.) I believe 5010 or 6030 axles will work. Is this true and are there any others that will work?
3.) Any recommendations on wrecking yards or parts suppliers?

Thanks,
Alf Roberts

This is a view from the rear, lower left side. I believe a bearing roller or broken gear tooth got between the planet and the ring gear, and forced the ring gear outward through the housing. (I couldn't get it to post 2 pictures on the one post)

I don't know if the housings are still there, but I scrapped 2 of those out while I worked at Larson Imp in Cambridge Mn. about 25 years ago. I know all the parts in the rear ends were good on both. Phone # is 763-689-1179. Not great people but not the worst either.

According to the axle housing(AR83526)& planet pinion carrier(R35337) are identical for 5010,5020 & 6030. Be aware that 6030 had 92 mm & 100 mm axles

Try Worthington in St Johns Michigan. You can get their number by searching them on the web.

Hi Patrick, I am very interested in rear axle parts. I am trying to finish up plowing and corn harvest before I go back to that project to see exactly what I need. How much would you like for the complete rear end or the center housing and left trumpet complete?
