Well problem no water.

Was just washing up some of the canning stuff when I noticed lack of water pressure. Went out to the well house and found that one of the 4 terminals on the pressure switch has melted the screw head off. All stores that would have one are closed so had to do a quick get me by fix. Took a pair of needle nose vise grips and use them to hold the wire on till I can go by a new pressure switch tomorrow. Just glad it waited till I was done canning the Brandied Honey pears and another batch of apple sauce

Old, That is why I have a backup pump on my system.
I also keep an extra pump switch as they always seem to give problems at night or when the stores are closed. I also buy only US made switches.

Al we found was made in China Square "D" is no exception. Pressure switch gives a fellow warning most times, before failing.Good Idea to keep a spare on hand. LOU.

Yeah, I was into well drilling and pump work when Square "D" quit making them in the USA. Got a shipment of 10, 3 were bad. Salemans called the next week and said, DON"T install anymore! Came out and pick up the7 I had left and gave Me 7 other ones. But I thought they were making them in Mexico.

Hi Rich when there is no water a person gets a heavy feeling.Brandied honey pears sounds like a real treat. You have been busy canning lots of goodies your lodge will be well stocked when snow flys. All is well and ends well.Scott

Years ago the wells here had "seasonal water". Depth was usually around 250' unless you had a cistern and caught roof water....ha!

Also you didn't have a dish washer, clothes washer, bath daily and all the modern usages. Getting a loan from FHA was paramount in putting in community water. Community wells are 1800 to 2000' depending on location on our system. An individual couldn't afford to go that deep to hit a reliable water sand. Just a piece of info.
