Parade 101....

I know nothing of small town parades. I would like to run one of my old Cases in our parade next summer. I'll have to look into it a bit, but do you think I could I simply drive one of my Cases (VAC-14, SC, DC) without pulling a float, etc.?

I'd get ahold of the parade organizers. I've run several in the Memorial Day Parade in town. The VFW handles it. There's a registration form that they have you fill out ahead of time so they can group things up like that and decide the order of the entries. It keeps the horses from going ahead of the marching band. lol
 
I do all the time here is Salida,CO With my Farmall C. For the Christmas Parade I hang solar light all over it. Other Parades I hang signs of what ever. I even have a pipe rig that I can hang out the back to carry banners. Most Parades want tractors.

Small town parades always have a tractor section. Lots of fun in the staging area, and the post parade area. Makes no diff., what brand you are piloting, just a great group of guys and gals to have some fun with. "Try it, You will Like it" Don't forget to fly the American Flag on your tractor.

Absolutely! And you will have fun too.

As others have said, contact those in charge of the parade... and they will let you know all their rules and probably have an entry form to fill out (probably has some liability disclaimer on it that they are not responsible for anything).

I do know one rule at one we go through is: no throwing candy from a moving unit. People need to walk along side with buckets to throw candy, so little kids don't wind up get running over.
 
Check with the organizer/sponsor of the parade. Our club participates in several parades every year. They can tell you if they have a group participating that you could join. We always have a lot of fun doing it, not to mention the stories that get told.
