I'm looking for a 12.4x 40 used tractor tire for my F12 tractor... I know it didn't come with them ..but its what was on it. I'd like to put 38" wheels on it but don't know what other model wheel fits the F12 axle.... Any suggestions?

F12 could of had 36 or 40 inch round spokes factory. What kind of wheel do you have now? I know where pair of 38 inch cut off rear wheels are at. F12 has 1/8 inch bigger axle than H farmall so axle size is 2 5/8. There is alot of options you can do. email me if I can help.

The 40" wheel was on F-14 to increase ground speed from the F-12,wich had 36" rubber. Some guys would put Farmall H wheels on an F12 to get 'cheap' rubber to the steel wheel tractor. There have been all kinds of 'tricks' to get 'cheap' rubber.40" rubber is very rare these days,as far as I know,no one has that size for many, many years.Servisable"used" tires do not exist. There was however,Several years ago some outfit in California was selling used takeoff tires from vegatable tractors. My feeling is you will look long and hard (unsuccessfully)for a used tire.May just have to bite the bullet and buy a new one.

Mike,I am reminded that I once had an F12 with 40" F&H round spokes that had been cut down to a 38" rim.

My grandfather had to park an Oliver 70 back in the 1950's because they couldn't get 40" tires for it then.

Miller Tire has a 9.5x40, but that is the only new 40" tire I've ever seen for sale.

The hubs are cast solid ones not spoked.. Never saw such a wheel.. Obviously for rear weight.. So I'll drop trying to find a 40 and go buy the next size down wheel and tire combo. Uhg..
