Finally finished my hay Saturday, Feeling like i am the last one to get done this year, here in Michigan it was very difficult to get the right weather to cut, rake, and bale good dry hay this year.

No.I still got 10+ acres to cut.Got almost 30 acres on the ground.Gonna bale half today. But it rained AGAIN last night.GRRR I hate rain......

I hate that, I was lucky no rain on any of my hay, though the last 14 acres was getting pretty far gone by the time i got it cut and baled, still looks and smells good though, 2200 in the barn this year, was lucky to get 1100 last year. The rain sure helped, but was also a huge pain in the butt. Good luck getting the rest in!

Around here you don't really want to cut anything past Labor day. Need enough regrowth before winter sets in. I did however take a 4th cutting of alfalfa last week as I'm plowing the field under anyways. I baled it Friday afternoon.

I did not have a choice, it was still 2nd cutting, could not leave that much on the field, and needed the hay. I have watched others fields around here for years, some cut it to the ground every fall, make haylage out of their third cutting, not much regrowth before snow flies, their fields are still doing very well. I did leave the head up so there is still some there. hopefully it comes back.

Finished up the last day of Sept., only got two cuttings this year and 2nd wasn't really worth cutting. Too wet then too dry.

not done here in southern ind yet ,,, gonna roll a few soybean stubble bales for bedding ,,got another 20 acres of grass /alfalfa to make yet

I finished baling about 10 days ago but the fields have not been dry enough to get a semi in to haul them away.
Rained last nite about 10 and start again at 3:00 and hasn't stopped yet.
I still have cows in the hi county but it's to wet to get trailers to the corral.

Nope, I finished mine on Saturday also. A little 3rd cutting grass.
Then went to working on my outdoor boiler installation project. Laying block and a pad for it and a 30x36 building.

I finished late in August, because I ran out of cutable fields. Had the weather been different, I'd have been doing more second cuttings, but no rain at the critical time, no second cuttings. And es, the weather was against us here in Michigan most of the season. Particularly difficult to get stuff dry in the late season.

Still trying to get a few hundred acres up here in Co. Baled some late yesterday afternoon, was going to rake some today but it rained again last night.

Got 300 acres to cut. 100 acres laying in windrows and 50 acres in bales that need stacked. Raining and cold here. I'm betting I won't be done till Thanksgiving.

Happy for you. You're not the last. One field of third cut to go, one field of first and at least 6 fields of second. By then, a couple more fields of second as it is still growing here in s.w.Pa. Should have 12,000 squares by next week and 120 rounds. Going to quit for the year on my 70th birthday Nov 12 !

If we get some weather I've got some 2nd cut I can do. I just finished first cut 11/12/13! There's one real rough field I could cut but I'm just going to graze it. The wet weather this summer and break downs made me real late, but I think I have enough to at least keep the stock alive this winter.

Nope, you arent alone. I finished running grass hay last week. Still got 42 acres of 5th cutting alfalfa to go. Hope to cut it Sunday or Monday after this front passes.
