Wayne, Ne. tornado

Drove through Wayne yesterday. Last week a tornado went through, a reportedly F-4. First I noticed the airport hangers were mostly in a pile of tin. Then saw the back buildings at the Deere dealer were the same, also a lack of trees in the area. The row of pickups out front were all minus glass and something heavy had dropped on the roofs. The new combines all lined up were a mess, no glass in the cabs, grain tanks battered, headers tossed around. It is in rural Nebraska so the news media just happened to overlook it.

The roof from the dealership landed on the pickups, couple guys from the JD dealership tied themselves to tractor differentials inside the shop since they were still at work. One pickup for sure was an employees. Watched the storm pass my place by Stanton. Good friends parents just moved into a house on the airport 2 weeks before the storm lost everything. At least no fatalities.chris

Sorry to hear that very glad no one was killed funny how these last few storms get so little attention but things like a movie star getting a DUI ect makes the news for months

Yesterday morning at the tire store,I talked to a guy who was in North Dakota doing construction work. He said they got a few flurries but saw the storm move to the south. He said that when he left there on the train Friday, they were saying 10,000 head of cattle. He didn't know how many sheep and horses. Said for the most part the cattle had herded up and suffocated.
I told him that they had said on AgDay 50-75,000 head of cattle were missing. He seemed a little shocked that the number was so high.

CNN had a vid of it, no dealership footage, but interviewed a woman who lost her house. She hid in her shelter.

McCook got hit by a hail storm about 2 years ago that busted up wally's-mart and the houses out on the golf course and a bunch of cars and they made a big deal of it for months. Heck, we get hit with 3 or 4 of those storms a year up here in Frontier County.
