Corn Moisture Migration

I started combining corn yesterday. The dry weather really took it's toll on it. There are many places where the corn burned up and is extremely dry(17% or less) and then there are some spots where there is good ground that is high 20's. It's that way all across the field, so just combining the dry spots is out. When the corn is mixed in the hopper, mixed again when unloaded and dumped in the bin, it's pretty well mixed in. Will the moisture even out as it's dried and stored? I have had this before and the corn has always kept OK, just wondering. Chris

You had better have stiration in the bin. For the most part it will even out but you can get spots of high moisture corn and then have a hot spot.
