Massy 135 to plow size

I have I believe a 1975 Massey ferguson, it has the three cyl. Perkins gas motor in it. I'm looking to buy a plow to break my garden with. I've been told a two bottom plow is too big and will be hard on the tractor and I should find a one bottom. This is my first tractor so I'm seeking info from the more knowledgable, thanks.

I got some double 14" plows that I use with a Ferguson TO35, or IH B275. I do fine with either and our soil is muck and hard-pan and hilly. In Michigan I pull two 14"s with a Ford 641 in sandy soil and it hardly works at all.

I've pulled 2 - 14's with a 135, didn't even know they were back there. A lot will depend on your soil, tires, and whether your tires are loaded or not.....

That tractor was sold for 3-14" bottoms and that is what a neighbor used to pull with his back when they were new.

the 20's and 30's came out with 2 bottom plows
I have never seen a 1 bottom Ferguson plow, the beams are bolted on so one could take a plow down to one bottom.
The main problem is finding one the right size.
What I think is ideal for a garden plow get a 16 inch plow 2 or 3 bottom take it down to a one bottom. 16 inch will throw the trash under better then if you have plenty of power you can plow deeper

Either 3-14" or 2-16". In soft soil it would pull 3-16" with no problem. If its a Perkins engine it is probably a diesel engine.

The Perkins 152 CI three cylinder engine was made in both gasoline and diesel versions and both were used in the 135.
