harvest is starting in our area, corn is running about 18% moisture, heard guys are getting from 180 to 210 bu/ac. soybeans have been running 60 to 65 bu/ac. seen a few combine with reels on the corn head from down corn. one of the pioneer varieties , the rootworms really did a number on. had 6/10 in rain saturday, may dry enough to get back in the fields tomorrow.

I started filling silo today. I wish the corn was a little drier and more mature. It's denting a little and getting solid. A few milky kernels. I'm afraid if I don't get it chopped it's going to start raining heavy and I won't be able to get it at all.

I live in northern mich and a lot of fields have been chopped. I went by one today and it was one that froze early. The stalks are dead and a lot of it is laying on the ground. We have had over 3 inches of rain in the last week and now getting hit with winds

Where in northern Michigan? I am in Kalkaska and we had 2.5" of rain over weekend. Rained til around 11:00 this morning, then started clearing and also very breezy.

Wow! My uncle and aunt grew up out there. In my dads family, brother and sister married brother and sister from Fletcher area. Small world.

Hey glennster my corn North of Ottawa was running 25-30 % yesterday planted around May 10th will do more today hopefully it will be drier somewhere else on this farm, maybe just the headlands were that wet.
