I have been having high blood pressure, and woke up with sharp back pains this morning. I am hoping it is a pulled muscle, but am going to the doctor.

Sharp back pains could be heart. I had them for months and was seeing a back specilast and taking medication from him for it but keep getting worse, finally had like a big weight setting on my chest. Went to hospital and came out with 5 bypasses, after that no more back pain. Haven't seen that doctor since but they were thought to be ol mr arther. Good luck!!
 
Last spring my mom who was 85 end of March had back and hip pain and was treated for months up till June. June 3rd she had a blood clot hit her lung, luckily she survived. After 36hrs in the hospital on oxygen and blood thinner her pains were gone. Luckily they were able to dissolve the blood clot. She came home 28 days later. She spent a total of 5 days in the hospital and 23 days in rehabilitation learning to walk since her legs were very weak. She did good all summer now her back and hip pain are back and she's not as active as she was all summer.
 
High blood pressure is nothing to mess with. I take a pill every morning for it. I check my pressure one or twice a week so please do not depend on luck watch it close and get help if not as it should be
 
GOOD LUCK !! You will sure need it if going to the doctor. Doubt they will know what is wrong.

As far as high blood pressure it depends who takes mine. The places that use a machine it always shows really high then when I go in and someone actually takes it the old way with a pressure cuff and a wrist watch it is normal. So which one is correct ?
 
When I asked my doctor why the BP readings from the machines were always higher that the old manual way he said the machines all read high. Since high pressure is much more of a problem than low pressure the manufacturers want to error on the side of caution.
 
Everything came out OK at doctor, chest pains were muscle spasms. BP is looking OK, but have to crank up exercise.

I really appreciate the support.
