the fall project begins (pics)

drove the ole m about twenty five miles up to town to start fixin her a little. pic 3 is the tall and the short of it. pic 4 is sonny boy "driving" around the yard.
pic 5 is one of the problems leak in the brake drums. also a leak in the lower bolster. it needs to be rewired and then we'll her give a paint job. pic 6 shouldn't be a big deal as i've got my lead mechanic on the job.

its not perfect by any means but it runs strong im not looking for a show tractor it just has to be dependable a look have way decent I think this one will work just fine

I have a H that is a mate to it serial #3969 First letter series tractor sold by our former IH dealer in our county.I'm the third owner, a gift from the second owners family and it is from an adjoining farm. I will be my retirement project.

I wish I had that kind of history for this one. I have no idea where in the world this tractor has been or what it has done in the last 74 years. all I know judging by the rust and frozen nuts and bolt is that it spent a good portion of its life out of doors. but that's ok it will be stored inside and in running condition as long as I own it

that brings back memories the M my grandfather had and i ran when i was young was identical, right down to the rusty spot on the frame, umm where did you get that thing? i remember the good times on it and block out the hot long days lol, the cub there, i have its twin here today and still mow with it today
