Two weeks ago my brother and I Finally got around to get fixing a 4000 Ford my brother bought about a year and a half ago. We got it running without much trouble but the clutch was stuck. Tried most of the simple tricks to loosen it but they did not work. We backed it up to the front of his shop and jack up the back wheels with a bottle jack. My brother got on the tractor put in high gear pull the throttle wide open and held the clutch pedal down and I kicked it off the jack. Well it showered me and the back side of the garage with rocks and went about 40 feet before he got it stopped. Tried that two more times and still did not come loose. Finally took the starter off and a plate on the bottom of the transmission and sprayed the clutch with penetrating oil and finally drove it around the yard till it came loose. Not sure why some clutches tend to stick and others can sit for ten or fifteen years and not. This one will not sit with out the pedal being blocked.
