Is a brass snout-tip pretty rare on a mounted picker

Just wondering how rare a brass center snout tip is on an old IHC mounted picker. We figured it must be quite an early model. It was definitely brass.

Sorry no pic.

Took some yesterday and somehow lost them in transferring from camera to computer. It was cool too - entire tractor and picker 100 percent rust (except of course, the brass tip on the snout - just a nice dark patina).
 
Its been 60 years since I seen a 2M picker and Don't remember. I know the newer ones didn't.
 
That was the theory of the guy who had the picker... that they probably designed prototypes in brass because it was easier to work with than steel.
