Farmall A Tractor seal on upper pulley assembly

Can anyone tell me if there is a seal on the back side of the fanblade upper pulley assembly on my 1947 Farmall A tractor. When I had the front off to switch my tractor to using an alternator (making it a 12 volt system) I had the brilliant idea to fill the upper pulley assembly w/90 wt.oil. Now I have an oil leak on the back of the pulley. It either must have a seal or I was only suppose to fill up to the bolt. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

There is NO seal in there. After putting a reasonable amount of oil in the fan hub, rotate it so the screw hole is DOWN. There is a standpipe inside the hub. Once the oil drains down to the height of the standpipe, put the plug/screw back in and all will be well.

That setup is SIMPLE and darned near as handy as a shirt pocket!
