Went out to the show this morning and took some pictures for you guys. Plenty of "junk" and "crafts" stuff, though I did find a gas cap for my WD. Tractor pull tomorrow morning; hope to see some YTers out there.

Was Oliver the feature? Excellent selection of them there. A few more than I've got here at home.

Any MM pictures you can share? Looks like an M670 Super in picture number 7. Nice line up of Olivers.

I'll take the camera back out with me in the morning and try to snag a shot of some MMs (didn't see too many of them, but I know they are there).

Good luck in the pull, centralilbaler!

Apparently this year the featured tractor is unique brands "Silver King, Keck Gonnerman, Avery, Graham Bradley, Gibson and more". I saw a Silver King last year but haven't seen one this year.

Unsure why the Allis in #6 has so many weights... I would assume no ballast in the tires and I think it is for use in a river bottom environment? Still, that is a lot of weights...

Will, in the picture of the Allis with all the weights, is the Allis behind it hooked to the front one? I can't see any front wheels on the back one, and it has a bunch of wheel weights on it too. Also what is the black thing above the fender on the first one?

I don't know if it is the same one or not, but there was one AC setup like this at Rantoul and pulling at least a 4 bottom. He did very well compared with some larger tractors.

I saw two Silver Kings and two Avery's along with a
"H" and a "M" in the front row, behind them there
was a Graham Bradley, a Wards and a M M BF. There
may have been more later this afternoon. I know of
other Wards and Avery's close to Jacksonville. A
real nice show and always enjoy the fine people that
put in a lot of work to make the show a success. It
was worth the time just to see and hear the old J D
"D" pull the subsoiler.

Yes, the two are connected together by that big yellow iron bar that runs forward. Here's a video from Rantoul of what Frank 41 was talking about where it was pulling a 4 bottom plow (no video of it plowing though).

One year they actually ran this tractor in the tractor pull (it has been at the Jacksonville steam show several years in a row, though this is the first time I've seen it with a wide front on it) and he had to stop before he pulled the sled off the far end.

Some pictures I took of that tractor in previous years where you can see the linkages better:

Some pictures from today of the pull and by request (boy we got some front ends up during the pull today... sheesh...). Video I took of the pull should be up in the next couple of days.:

(quoted from post at 08:55:30 09/28/13) Thanks for the picture Will - Don't think I'm going to be able to make it this year.

Aw, bummer. Did run into centralilbaler at the pull though.

(quoted from post at 01:25:44 09/28/13) No steam in those pics ? :/

Good call; snagged one of them.

Wow, that is interesting. Thanks for the additional pictures.

No problem. :D
