Painted the 1365

I reverse engineered the Cockshutt to an Oliver. Here's a few befores and the afters from this morning.

Ended up with a few spots where the paint's a little thin and a few where it's too thick and ran. Got the decals crooked on the right side, but it's going right back to work in the manure anyway so give it a few days and nobody will ever notice.

Hafta say I really like the Cockshutt red but if its gotta be green, you got the right one. It looks great! Tractor looks handier than a pocket on a t shirt.

Handier than the pocket on my bibs! The wife said she liked the red better too until I got all the tape off,got the decals on and got it all back together. She's changed her tune.

The Clover White was from Agco, the green was just some cheap stuff from TSC. Had to thin the crap out of that stuff. After I got it stirred up the stir stick would stand up in it.

Ya,it got to be like driving a new one when I put the new seat on it and fixed the power steering actuator. It smells new now,but that'll change in a hurry.

Boy your gonna confuse the next fella who owns it and has to split it or do any work to it and starts finding red paint...

Guess I'd have stayed with the red, because the Cockshutt version is not seen as often, but you did a nice job. Still kicking myself that I passed on a 1365 that ran like a watch for $2,200 (no loader, 2WD).

If I had other red tractors around here I probably would have, but it just clashed with all the green paint. I've wanted a 1365 Oliver FWA for a LONG time and that was the only way I was ever going to get one I guess. Life's complete now.

Boy,now you stirred something up. When I was just a little guy, maybe 3,I know I wasn't in school yet anyway,Dad had some pink paint in the basement. I told Ma that he said I could have some and I painted my Oliver 88 pedal tractor pink. I got a real good talking to about respecting my stuff and lying to Ma that day.

I paid a good price later on too. It cost me $300 to get it restored and repainted about 20 years ago.

That"s been my experience with TSC paint too. Thicker than thick. I use it on all my implements. Use to be Valspar last time I bought.

I use House of Kolor or Sherwin-Williams on my cars. Best stuff I have ever sprayed.

(quoted from post at 15:53:33 09/25/13) I thought TSC paint was Valspear. Isn't that a pretty good brand?
TSC Used to sell Valspar, not any more.
Now they sell Majik I think it's called.
John Deere paints there tractors with Valspar in the factory.
Learned that on my tour out there early this month.

Weren't you gonna paint that S-55 pink for the little woman? LOL
The 1365 looks great, no way I can see that being done in one day!

That's the hardest one I ever painted. I started pressure washing Saturday morning. Worked all day Saturday,Sunday and Monday morning. From the look of it,I should have spent another day and then hit it with another coat the day after.
