senior moment

I had a senior moment last night. Left key in truck ingition. Dead battery. Waiting for charger to bring it up. After an hour charging at 20 amps, I had enough juice to start the truck, but soon realized the alternator was getting hot real fast. Just going to wait. Don't feel like replacing the alternator too.

I had one Monday. Putting out Liquid feed.Half hour pumping before. I noticed I had the loading and dumping valves both open.

George, while you"re waiting, keep it on the charger. Your alternator is putting out its maximum to bring your battery up to full charge; y"see, when you started it, that drew your battery down again. This is normal-if you put it to work, you likely wouldn"t have noticed the alternator heating issue.

After looking all over the house for my cel phone I found it in my hand, up to my ear, talking on it!

A steady 20 amp charge is hard on batteries. They start giving off hydrogen gas at 6 amps.It would take about 4 hours to bring that battery to full charge at a 20 amp rate.
