Well about a month ago I had to fix a rear tire on my Ford 841. Since it has fluid in it I put in a new tube to be on the safe side. Went to use it today, it has sat for 2 weeks or so and the tire was flat. Tried to air it up but air went in as fast as it went out. So I used its loader to lift tire and drain fluid. Broke it down and found new tube has a rip in it about 1/2 inch long with nothing that appears you have cut it just a poor made tube. Made in in one of them north/south countries close to China

Went through two tubes before I used murphies oil soap on the tube to keep it from sticking and pulling out the valve stem. and each time did the air it up let air out and air it back up used the tractor each time lasted only a couple days at most pulled the stem out of the tube. soaped up the next new tube no problem ??
Hope this helps
John

i just had the same time fix 3 times an the tractor hadnt moved more then 10 feet. everytime the tube was split out right at the seem.

I just put new tires and tubes on my SM in August. Tubes I used said made in the USA out of Arkansas by Bridgestone American Tube Company. I believe they were near 70.00 a piece.

I put new bias trailer tires on the stock trailer in the spring. I was asking about options and the tire guy said, "it doesn't matter what tire I sell you, it will be made in China.". Sad, cause I would pay more to get a decent set.

I keep the trailer inside at all times - I am just waiting for them to start rotting off the rim or delaminate on the highway.

Had a tire shop replace the tube on the rear inside of my JD 5020 a few years ago. The next day it was flat. The tire compamy sent a repair truck out. The guy had to remove the outside tire off of the rim to get to the inside tire. Lucky for me it was a defective tube from china, and it didn't cost anything for all the labor. Stan

how about plastic intake manifolds ,,. JUUNK !,.what gets me is they have been makin manifolds out of metal for over a hundred yrs very well, ,,. so many other items made WRONG these daze that aint worth payin for ,,, but yet the technology has been earned and learned a hundred yrs ago ,,, and the modern Bulst jerks choose to build inferior products,,.. I used to think these shortcut came from gm ...

I agree with that. I get calls every day. From people that buy the China cheap junk generators. Crying because no one will work on them.

On another note. I bought a some toe nail clippers. Made in China. My cat broke them playing with them.

You have a better tire guy than my old one. I had a new (1 month old) tube fail, and the only thing he would do for me was "give" me a new tube at cost. I had to eat the whole labor and pump charge. The next year, the valve stem rotted off the tube on the other tire, I didn't even call him, just got a tube somewhere else, and put it in myself.

Did you buy the best tube you could find or the cheapest tube you could find?Cheap and quality don't go together few people are willing to pay for quality built things these days.

i agree its driving me nuts too, i bought 6 condensers for my farmall trying to do a simple tune up, asked for blue streak, got something in a blue streak box, none were any good, finally out of desperation i bought a condensor nos off ebay , got lucky, it really was, the tractor started right up and runs just fine now . its time to say enough junk is enough manufactures want to sell their product for the maximum profit, i get that, but while certain workers in certain countries will work for a dollar a day, you can take a worker for who, 20 years ago, 'high tech' involved a water buffalo and get him up to speed making quality items for the 21st century in that amount of time

That would annoy me, after doing the labor, last one I got was from a long established tractor, heavy equipment tire outfit, just inflated once in, deflated, then inflated, loaded and there has been no issues, might be time to change a valve stem, being a few years. Thats just one of those things, you need a good quality tube, hate to have to a job over because of something like that. Its about as bad as having faulty twine when baling hay or the last time I saw it, in straw, which sells for more than hay, beautiful clean straw, all the bales broke right out of the thrower, had to toss it out of the wagon, guy who supplied the twine, said I'll replace it, certainly does nothing for the aggravation, and extra work to re-bale, oh well, I suppose there are much worse things in life :)

Last year I got some made in US radial tubes in 18.4x34 - one was firestone, the other was Michelin, again, they were 70$ vs the 25$ chinese ones. I saved the old firestones tubes that were in the tires already as the tire guy told me they would be better than a new cheap tube.

You don't think that tube mold operator in China is proud of his job? He's tickled pink. He's Mr. Got Rocks in his neighborhood.

They're producing tubes at the lowest cost possible. That means they use the least amount of rubber possible. That means the shortest "cooking" time in the mold possible.

The problem is that the tubes are so cheap to produce, and have such a high profit margin, that they can easily afford to "apologize" and send you a new tube "free of charge" if that's what it takes.

You must not have needed it too bad as you didn't use(need)the tractor for two weeks and couldn't wait 3 days for something good or too cheap to drive the 50mile.So now you can do the job over again, plus buying a new tube again.

I replaced the tubes in a 720 JD 16.9x34 (had fluid in them) did not want fluid, removed the tires, cleaned and painted rims (inside) smooth, waited 2 weeks put new tubes in, next day 1 tire flat, thought must have pinched when putting in, removed it at least 10 pinholes, got it replaced, put back in 2 weeks later flat again (grrrrrr) removed and valve stem had torn loose from the tube, dug out an old tube rehabbed the valvestem and installed, 2 years later no problems

Where did I say I do not use the tractor. I did say I had parked it for a while but did not say what I did or did not do with it right after I put the tube in and yes I needed it and that is why I put the tube in that I did.

You got what you wanted. You wanted it cheap...it's cheap. Not cheap to raplace, not cheap to go and get another, not cheap when you lose a days work. But we told our government we wanted it cheap..we got it. We no longer have to pay for expensive American company health care, or retirement programs or vacations. We wanted it cheap...we got it cheap.

Of course they pay no USA taxes so we have to pickup the tab for that now...but the stuff is cheap.

Be careful what you ask for, you just may get it.

Old, I did not ask for cheap either. I asked for decent quality at a fair price. But somehow our trade policy allowed our competitors to offer junk at a price so good that we put our own American companies out of business. Now we are stuck with junk. Try to buy a decent trailer tire. Too late, we learned that the end game is not so wonderful. Again, they pay no taxes, so we get to pick up the tab for all those lost American jobs. Extra taxes probably make up for what we saved on junk.

Ya when Clinton opened up the door of free trade with China it all went down hill form there. Now what we have is 10 times worse then he was so it is going down hill fast or maybe down a cliff since it is starting to look like there is not a way back

Yep we have embraced cheap stuff for so long that the good stuff is just about all gone.
Well that and the corporate greed driving to maximize profits.
