Maple Leaves in NY are falling dried up, the size of a plum when usually the size of the PALM of your hand and GREEN, no WO0ly BEARS to speak of and no MONARCHS either, Looking at a BADDDDDDD Winter i think.

I have an American Chestnut.Just started dropping it burrs.No pollination, no chestnuts.

My Chinese chestnuts have not started to open up.
Trees are loaded, but the burrs seem small this year. Maybe because it has been very dry here.

Seen a half dozen wooly worms this past week. All of them totally brown, no black at all, which means a mild winter. We'll see.

They say if the oak trees are loaded with acorns you'll have a severe winter. Hardly any acorns and the wooley worms are lite brown almost blond.

Farmers Almanac has predicted a bad winter. Don't know for sure, but think they have a pretty good track record.
