mowing around my half acre pond i noticed hundreds if not thousands of young bullfrogs jumping into the lake. normally fish take care of them but their population is down. anybody have any thoughts on what will happen to them? can't imagine that many living on one small pond. Thanks.

Frogs overwinter in the mud in bottom of ponds/swamps. Probably mother nature will bring population into line over the season. I've been seeing many streaked snakes this year. They're harmless, so just letting them go! Watch for lots of snakes after the frogs!

blue herons is the reason fish population is down. restocked this past spring but no sign of them. also suspect i have a snapping turtle eating my fish also. good thought on snakes also, i will watch out for them too.

Around here there are more frogs, but the largest increase in the fuzzy catapilers. Have never ever seen them this thick. They are on the roads and everything. Hope that doesn't mean a cold winter.

Lots of frogs and toads here in S Ontario.Frogs are supposed to be more suseptible to pollution than other animals.I"m taking it as a positive sign.

Hey - I had tadpoles in my bathtub this summer.

It's been a good year for tree frogs, too. I like those little critters.
