Bubba wants to become an electrical engineer.

Bubba is attending Redneck Tech Institute of higher learning, RTI. His first electronics class is in B&B, Bulbs and Batteries. His first project was to make a 12v test light, which he is very proud of it. Like all projects at RTI, he can't buy anything, they must be made from used or recycled materials. Part of Bubba's homework this weekend is to write a research paper on why sometimes the bulb is on and when he reverses the wires to the battery the light is off. Bubba could use all the help you can give him.

It is a simple solution requiring possible ABnormal transplant.
If the conductivity of the nurons in the associated grey matter, tangential to the conductivity of PN junction in the experiment is influenced by ethanol, the results will be unclear. Suggest increasing the voltage beyond the PIV of the aforementioned PN junction (possibly 10,000) Jim

It's cause the electrons get dizzy going the wrong way through the polarity regulator from the flux capacitor out of his neighbor's Delorean.

It would appear that bubba's parents have spent far too much money
on extra mulit-meters, over priced tools/gadgets and JD accessories
instead of actual education! LOL

It is possable that the proxmity of the John Deer cup counters the crosnics in the Rural King battery. That will do it every time.

I don't have a clue, either, but if Bubba wants to get rid of that 100 amp diode cluttering up his work bench, I'll sure take it off his hands.

WHY does Bubba have that silly over-heatsinked diode in series with his test light?????

Well, . . . Let Bubba ponder this one - If man-kind is smart enough to create a device (flashlight) that produces a "beam of LIGHT" , then why can't we create a device ( ? ) that produces a "beam of DARK" ?

What ever you do, dont let the smoke out of anything. It is a real pain getting it back in.

Ok guys you know as well as I do that the mockup is to show him how the diode effects the circuit. Picture is worth a thousand words. And agree that it's a tech course, not BSEE material. But give the guy credit. He's working at something constructive. Who knows, he may develop enough interest in the subject to go on to "Grad" school.

My second son, "Sparky", was always interested in electronics and graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in electrical engineering (highest honors) and was offered their Ph.D progrom but he would have to stay on as a prof. He has never lacked for an excellent job and has, for some years, operated a very good business. Mostly in the computer field. Let the boy follow his passion. Sometimes it pays off handsomely. Both personally as well as financially. We used to kid Sparky about not being able to spell his own name but he got straight As in every math or science course he took.

Come on Texasmark1........you have been hanging around here long enough to know that buickanddeere knows all! Just ask him...he knows more than the almighty.

A gadget that works opposite to a microwave oven would be handy too. Instant cold beer!
