OT Mig Question

I know I can weld aluminum with a MIG using Argon Gas. Question , can I weld cast aluminum with it?

Yes we used to do it daily on molds cant get it too clean if its thick preheating helps.

Depends on the alloy. Unfortunately, it's not easy to determine which alloy your casting is.

It is not as easy as just putting in a roll of AL wire though. You will need a spool gun or at the least a new lined, liner and heavy wire. It is hard to push AL wire through a ten to fifteen foot lead.

Need more info to answer. What do you have for a welder and what is the casting you want to weld? Some pics of it would help a lot.
