So I have a case 1830 skidloader (tractor ha ha) that has a electric fuel pump with a regulator.. How does one set this up to know that Im not starving nor flooding the carb out.. This case has a renult motor in it. And 2nd question WHY does it have an elec fuel pump with regulator to begin with?? any thoughts?? thanks

A normal needle and seat carb can have 4 to 6 psi applied. Some less if designed for gravity feed. An electric pump with positive displacement needs regulation. an impeller pump might put out 10 PSI and need to be restricted to 4 or so.
A Facet ((brand) fuel pump will put out fuel on demand, and stay within the normal range of pressure. Jim

To actually set or check the regulator I would suggest installing a fuel pressure gage at the carburetor inlet, after the fuel filter. The gage reading should remain within the pressure values given in the manual.

Check the pressure prior to starting (engine off with the pump running), at engine idle and at full power. Too high a reading and the carburetor float valve may not be able to shut off against the pressure, resulting in flooding. Too low a reading could result in starving the engine of fuel.
