Started reading ALL that was enclosed on the tax notice.

Clue #1 - postmark was from 60188 - not a Dallas, or even a Texas, zip code.

Clue #2 - disclaimer at the bottom : Not affiliated with any government agency.

Clue #3 - Fine print on bottom of info card - processing cannot begin until the $55.00 fee is paid.

Should have known better. Info got fed to the shredder.

Got your hopes all up for nothing. LOL

It is a rare day that the government gives any money back to a working person. You need to be a dead beat of some sort. Then they will throw money at you.

I know Texas does not have a state income tax but I was down there a few years ago an stopped and bought some stuff at a store. The total sales tax was well over 10%. I think it was like 13%.

I think that is way worse than an income tax. The sales tax hits people just as hard. They just are paying it in a little bit at a time.

Maybe you'd better check and make sure the fuel you thought was ten cents cheaper wasn't only with a car wash or something.

Don't know how you got charged that much. State sales tax is around 6%. Dallas is 8 because of the public transit system.

I am owed lots of dollars from amended return for 2011. They keep saying was not filed correctly by our CPA. Still calling every 2 weeks to keep the heat on them. Can you imagine if it was the other way around and the threats and verbal abuse I would have here? I guess the same rules don't apply when they owe you huh?

By law the Max. State sales tax is 6.25% in Texas. Local (city) goverments can and do tack on some for their share. Hotels & Motels get really crazy in some places, as much as an additional 13% - 25%.

It was between Dallas and Amarillo on Rt 287. We where heading up to Denver, CO. One of the fellows with us had his alternator go out. We stopped bought a set of jumper cables at a local Walmart. I think it may have been Childress. I know the sales tax was over 10%. We all talked about it at the time.

got a notice over the summer that our 1st quarter 941 witholding was overpaid by $2.43. the fine was $97.50. figure that one out. was all done thru quickbooks.
