What type of lubricant in a Maytag wringer washer?

I had tipped my Maytag - a $40.00 purchase - on its side to work on a caster and de-cobweb the underside. Oil has leaked out and would appreciate knowing what type of lubricant is needed. Other www searches state gear oil, some = 30 wt. oil. What's the real poop? Thanks in advance for your help.

If that is a white square tub then you got a real buy. A top quality one even with no motor I could get a $140 for wholesaleing it out to a dealer for resale but by changing the motor out for a 2 horse Honda. And I understand that all parts are still avaible for them. About 3 years ago I got 4 of them in one year, since have not been able to find any.

Leroy"; it is a round machine; operates well. Some rust spots and one caster is minus a spring and pin to hold the caster in the leg. A reminder of simpler times when mom did washing in our square Maytag.

Get on the Maytag website "service and support" section. Be sure to have your model number. Type in your question. They say they'll answer you back in 9 seconds or less.

I have an old Matag ringer washer out in the barn still works
great. It was bought back 49 or 50 when they put electric
power in the old house. Also still got the first frig it's running
out in the barn for the hired help.

Start with a can of Seafoam...add some Marvel
Mystery Oil...and just a spritz of WD-40.

If there are any snakes nearby, they should wind up
squeak-free.
