Nice surprise when I got home today

Interrupted mowing last night to help out a neighbor. By the time I got back it was too dark to finish so I parked the mower in front of the shop. Went to town this morning to run some errands. When I got home noticed the mower had been moved and the rest of the yard had been finished. Called my son, thinking he had stopped by but it wasn't him. About that time the neighbor pulled in the driveway. As I told him what happened he cracked a smile and said I wasn't home when he stopped earlier. Also said he felt bad that I didn't finish mowing because of him and when he saw the mower it just seemed the right thing to do. After thanking him I mentioned I usually trim after mowing too...but he didn't bite. LOL. Life is good when you have good neighbors.

Got a buddy that's been borrowing my mower the past two summera to cut his lawn because the engine on his mower blew up and he hasn't had the funds available to replace it. I know it's a little more wear and tear on mine, but I haven't bought a drop of gas for it in the last two years. Too, he often brings it back and goes ahead and mowes my yard before parking it back in it's spot. The nice thing about that is he hates to trim so he actually cuts things cloer than I ever do...making way less area for me to trim when I do it.

That is the way it is around here. Big game to see who can help whom the most. tractor broke down neighbor said he would fix it, but also called another neighbor about it and that neighbor was pulling in the yard with his tractor within 15 minutes. So a few days later when he was getting off of work to bale it was already done. He said damn, and I said gotch ya.
