John deere 70 skid loader

My friends and I are thinking about restoring my dads John Deere 70 skid loader here is the problem i am not sure if i should restore it someday or sell it to a salvage yard the condition it is in is bad it has been in a barn full of cows for a long time and it is layered with cow poop so it would take forever just to get the cow poop off of it. The engine would need to be rebuilt because it backfires and wont even start half of the time. It also would need new tires and a seat and it would need a new paint job. The bucket lift needs a little fixing to i think. should i bother restoring this skid loader or should i forget about it.Is this skid loader even a rare machine?

Those machines were made by OMC company that built Mustang Skidloaders. Same machine as the 330 Mustang. Onan engines are sort of spendy to overhaul. You will have to get an idea of repair costs and decide if you want to spend that much.

A new one is in the range of $35,000.00 You could restore yours cheaper. You could also buy a used one and not know what you have.
