That was quite the Storm Front that rolled thru last evening. Never saw so much red/orange lightning in a T storm.
Was that Big Joe's house that burned down on E. Lydius St. last night?

"Long vacant mansion"- sounds like a friction fire- the insurance policy rubbing up against the mortgage.

This brings to mind some questions.
Why do these things happen in the middle of the night? It's not like any HVAC needed to be running?
Also- someone got there pronto with an excavator. You have to wait your turn here, and hope they eventually show up! Why would a contractor risk potential damage/explosion/etc. when there's other work to do. One would think it must pay really well. But who pays? and when?
Some years ago when a drunks new steel barn up the road burned, we were out in the field when someone pulled in here. I suppose they could have been looking for pond/water. But I somehow got the idea they were looking for someone with a hoe to pull the smoldering thing apart. Local contractor(again who has people with money in hand waiting for him to show up) got right there with his excavator.

Hey Loren, yes it was quite a storm, pic will prolly come out sideways as I took it for texting. The house that burnt down supposedly belonged to an old boss of mine, a guy that passed away years ago from asbestos problems. He owned a hvac company called McD metals. I only head this from my dad, I have watched the news or looked into it yet, I just saw ur post. I guess jimmy g got a infection in he's foot, was in the hospital for a week. I don't know if he's home yet or not.

Sad they immediately tore it down, all the limestone surrounds and keystones could have easily been used in another house.
