Was talking to a friend yesterday and she said a guy on the radio had called in and was talking about a car dealer that closed up in 1958 or 20. Was said that when he closed he boarded up the windows and locked the doors and never opened it up for any thing. The story goes that there are new old stock cars with less then 10 miles on them and who knows what else. This is said to be in NE. Was also said they where going to auction the stuff off here in the near future

I heard that a week or so ago don't remember where maybe car talk or the local radio. Also alot of new old stock parts.

They did a story on it on AgDay a few weeks ago, talked about the upcoming auction. Some old Impala with 8.2 miles or some such thing, still has the plastic on the seats. A rare 58 Cameo pickup sitting in the shop with 10 miles. Said they already have bidders registered from all 50 states and 12 countries.

There"s this auction in Pierce, NE west of Sioux City IA about 60 miles. I worked at the telephone office located just west of the dealership. Rumor was he had the fleet sales in Colorado and that was where he was making his money. There's a 64 Impala that was just rolled off the transport and put in the shop. The hubcaps are still in the trunk and the plastic was on the seats. A Cosworth Vega was also setting outside with dealer sticker still on the window and low miles. He would sell some cars but only to people from out of state and for the right price.

yep, for sure , but as much as i like original stuff that will be out of my ball park, darn it. yes have seen the stuff few months ago and WOW! Brand New OLD Cars.

I think he was open later than that but I'm not sure of the year. The story I heard was that left over cars at the end of the year he would take to his farm and store instead of selling them. It probably made good business sense as people are slow to buy new models as long as there are discounted last years models available.

ive been watching clips on those, those are going to be very high dollar cars after all there only new once and most of these still are

It was not 58 he closed in 96. It's in pierce neb. Been advertised for months. Expecting ten thousand bidders, won't be any bargains.

Yes there are a couple of places like that here in New England that did that .. not being a "car" guy I do not know much of the details or exactly where .. heard this from my friend who is a Car Guy and Mopar fanatic ... one I do remember is a dealer for them cars that float ...amphibious ones .. the dealer had about a dozen or so he could not sell so he locked them up and his son has them now .. up in maine still locked away ... ... the other ones i just can't remember at this time what or where they are ...

Its located about 25 miles from me, have driven by some of the cars stored out on the farm!!! From what have heard from people that live in and by Pierce you want to be sure and look over anything you plan on purchasing as some are nice some not so good!!!!

Yup, I read that in our local paper, know the guys Last name started with a K saw that he had cars with less than a mile or so on them for sale and trucks too. I just put the paper in the garbage last night.

When you think times are hard or money short all you have to do is go to an auction like this. Will not be any shortage of money I am betting. Pretty good clip of it on national news one day last week so they have the word out.

Even though lots of these vehicles have less than 10 miles on them, most received little or no care and are in poor condition..Thats a shame..

Don't know about the comment about it being good to get the holdovers off the lot, I could always hold more gross on a new car If I had a holdover or two to offer at the price they wanted the current year model at.
