Ford 6600 fuel problems

I have a ford 6600 early model model with cav injection pump. Tractor was running fine till hay season came. First it started off slow when I would work it for a few hours it would stop reving all the way up and start puffing white smoke and it has progressively gotten worse to the point that now when u start it up cold it runs fine but as soon as u start working it won"t rev and puffs white smoke but if I loosen the bleeder valve on the side of the pump and let fuel run out it revs back up and runs fine until I close the valve then dies back down. Injectors have been changed fuel has been drained and tank cleaned filters have been changed. Just wondering if anyone can help me out cause local Machanic has no clue.

Check valve in fuel return fitting that screws into inj pump is clogged. Clean it out and it will run better. I'm not sure if the CAV has a drive ring that can deteriorate similar to a Roosa-master or not.
