1946 John Deere B

I have my tractor in a garage for 8 years. Putting everything together after paint and now it will not turn over. Garage is out of weather is there some thing I am missing ? Tractor turned over before tear down and did not pull apart motor.

Probably froze up from setting for 8 years. Put it in high gear and gently rock it back and forth. It may break free. If not your project just got bigger.

Being parked in a building means nothing when it comes to rust and condensation. Most likely the rings has rusted to the cylinder wall so you need to fill the cylinder with ATF and if you can jack the front end up so the top of the pistons get ATF soaking on them. Then after a few days pull the plugs and try to spin it over. You may want to find a way to run a hose etc out of the plug holes because if it spins over the ATF will go all over the place

Got to thinking about your comment re raising the front end to get more ATF contact area. How about a wand connected to a high pressure power bleeder....maybe a small furnace nozzle on the end, and rotate to spray the entire interior through the spark plug hole? I made my power bleeder out of a new 20 lb LP tank. Regulator controls the air pressure. I made mine to fill Case 2470 differentials through a miserably small hole, at relatively low pressure.

Back when I got the $$ to fix the 1935 JD B I have I jacked it up like I said and in less then 24 hours the ATF had freed it up. The problem with a spray is after you stop spraying the ATF runs down and off where it needs to soak
